‘Pink Jacket’ was established in Nhulunbuy by a small group of individuals wanting to encourage women golfers. Over time, members of the founding group relocated and I, Donna-Marie Grieve remained and was instrumental in tweaking the current focus of the Pink Jacket formats, to carry on the legacy. Since then, I have expanded the focus of Pink Jacket events to include raising money for locals experiencing financial difficulties due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances. Pink Jacket fundraising efforts now include Car Rallies and more recently with donations from local business, I set up a Pink Jacket Coffee Trailer.
Supporting businesses instrumental in making this possible are:
- B.I.G Carpentry Pty Ltd
- Nhulunbuy Smash Repairs
- East Arnhem Plumbing Services
- Manfield Electrical
- SeaSwift
- Kamayan Cafe - Supplying their lovely Fresh Coffee Beans
To date, many recipients have benefited from the financial support provided as a result of Pink Jacket fundraising events. All money raised goes directly to the recipient and all activities are run by Volunteers. We solely rely on Sponsorship and the Goodwill of some amazing Volunteers and Sponsors.
Due to the success of these events, Allen Fanning, Golf NT President, adopted the concept and with my assistance ran the first Pink Jacket Golf Day Event in Darwin in 2018, to support a local Darwin recipient. This event will continue to be held annually with the support of Pink Jacket.
Please keep an eye on the event calendar for up-coming events, so you too can participate in our fun events and enjoy supporting a local in need.
